3 Pet Safety Tips for the 4th of July!

Fireworks

We are all looking forward to the 4th of July festivities EXCEPT our pet friends! We have all had experiences in the past with fireworks going off and our pet being scared to death! Our dog, Addison, does not like fireworks or loud sounds for that matter so, we are always taking the necessary precautions to make her comfortable. We have to be vigilant and make sure to keep our pets safe and sound during this upcoming holiday.

Safety Tips:

#1 If you are having people over your home, please make sure that any beverages, ESPECIALLY alcoholic beverages are out of reach of your pets. We wouldn't want your pet to get sick and take a trip to the hospital!

#2 Keep matches and lighter fluid far out of your pet's reach. Have you ever had a 1st or 2nd degree burn before? Youch! It hurts. We wouldn't want that to happen to our furry friends because of our neglect.

#3 NEVER use fireworks around your pets! Keep your pets inside and away from anything that sparks, lights up, explodes, etc. This is a safety must! Sometimes other people are not as cautious about our pet friends and won't plan ahead like we do!

Please enjoy the 4th of July with your family, friends, and your 4 legged pals! If you happen to need a dog walker or pet sitter to take care of your pets during this upcoming holiday weekend, YOU know you can call San Gabriel Valley Pet Care. We are available 7 days a week including holidays!
